1. Good News: Where the Intel is Good

Celebrating Freedom

  • This is what Trump is doing to the Deep State: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rZBE9lL3hho

  • As of 14AUG, RFK has cancelled 22 mRNA "vaccine" contracts. These drugs have been an unmitigated health disaster. Big Pharma got by with this because it had captured the regulatory agencies. In effect, it bypassed the Rule of Law to inflict massive damage to reap massive profits on a gas lighted medical industry serving millions of gas lighted patients. Nobody has yet been able to demonstrate that any of these medications are either safe or effective. By investing a fraction of the same money into health care (not speaking "Newspeak" here, I mean health care when I say health care--see Liars Alert #1 below) to make people's immune systems robust, we can stop pathogens in their tracks. The problem is you can make billions of dollars selling useless novel drugs but you cannot make billions of dollars selling fruits and vegetables.

  • In a press conference earlier this month, Karoline Leavitt openly stated that Nancy Pelosi has a net worth of $413 million on a salary of $174,000. And her stock portfolio grew 70% in one year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EF6M4TV1II

Calling out this criminal was unthinkable during the Communist Occupation. The fact that it can now safely be done with no reprisal of violence or lawfare is a testament to how wise the voters were to restore Trump to the White House. The Rule of Law is the basis for freedom, and because the Rule of Law has been restored, we no longer cower in fear before people like Pelosi.

  • Other leading criminals, such as Hillary Clinton and Barry Soetoro, have left a mountain of evidence. Even if they are not ultimately held accountable via criminal trial, they will at least be outed and their deeds recorded in history as part of the legacy of a corrupt, anti-democratic Democrat Party (the communists). This will be a key factor in next year's mid-term elections.

  • Embarrassingly stupid candidates such as Jasmine Crocket and AOC, will help defeat their own party in the mid-term elections.

  • Kamala 's "thoughts" on her ill-fated challenge to Trump along with the many other stupid, disingenuous things she is spewing, will help the Commies lose a few seats in Congress and maybe a couple of governorships also. The commies hate the First Amendment, because it protects the rights of sane people to speak out. One reason we sane people love the First Amendment because it also protects the rights of the insane and idiotic to embarrass themselves. We don't have to do that for them!

  • Speaking of the Cackler, remember when she was Border Czar? Crossings by illegal aliens were in the millions per year. And remember when she was running for POTUS? She blamed Trump for this and in a softball interview gave an incoherent answer as to what her solution would be if she were made POTUS. As of this writing, we have had ZERO crossings by illegal aliens for the past three months. She wasn't POTUS during the past three months, Trump was. And still is. Free elections are a wonderful thing, aren't they?

  • "The full panel of the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has refused to review a lower court’s ruling that California’s one gun per month purchase limit violates the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment." [Epoch Times]. The commies lost one of their OSHA for Violent Criminals cases, and tried to appeal it to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which unanimously turned them down. This is a great victory for freedom, it sends a clear message that we are done "debating" whether violations of the 2A are OK.

  • President Trump continues to knock down racist policies at universities and other institutions. Apparently, he doesn't share the liberal belief that black people are so innately inferior that standards must be lowered for them.

The "logic" behind singling out black people for this disrespect is "slavery". This connection assumes that every black person is a descendant of plantation slaves (it's a very small percentage, actually), no black people have immigrated to the USA since slavery was abolished (the vast majority of today's blacks either came here on their own or are descendents of people who have), and no black person can afford to move away from "oppressionist" USA to a better place for black people. The average wealth of American blacks is greater than the average wealth of blacks of any other country. We (including blacks) need to stop disrespecting black people by repeating these lies.T

District of Corruption Clean-up Alert

Economics Alert, #1

  • The trade deals just keep coming. If you haven't read about the Nvidia 15% deal, it's a whopper for our economy. "President Donald Trump will allow Nvidia and AMD to resume limited AI chip sales to China in return for a chunk of the revenue from the sales ahead of a likely US/China trade summit." [The Capitalist]. Even the left-wing media are positive on it: https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/11/trump-nvidia-amd-china-chip-revenue-deal-implications.html

  • John Deere is investing $20 billion over the next 10 years, in the USA. That's a huge bet for the company, considering that we were under Communist Occupation for four years and such a move during that time would have been corporate suicide. Even the left-wing media are positive on it, but instead of linking to one of them I'm linking to a reputable, ethical source: https://www.foxbusiness.com/retail/john-deere-investing-20-billion-us-here-details

  • "GE Appliances said it will move production of refrigerators, gas ranges, and water heaters to U.S. plants from locations in foreign countries, including Mexico and China, as part of a $3 billion expansion of its American manufacturing network." [Epoch Times]

Economics Alert, #2

Prominent members of the Communist Party, most notably Nancy "Nutcase" Pelosi and Jasmine "Moron" Crockett have been repeating the lie that the Trump tariffs have made life unaffordable in America. That  is a laugh, considering how unaffordable the commies made it during the Occupation. As usual, the commies are flat-out lying.

Household furnishings rose 0.7% and apparel rose 0.1%, while food prices remained flat and energy prices fell 1.1%. Even the Communist News Network has reported that "inflation" (a word they misuse to describe a general increase in prices) is down even during the summer travel season. Their "experts" are stymied. In general, the tariffs have not only made life more affordable already they have a tool for cooperation between nations. That astounding deal with the European Union is only one example.

I live along I-35, one of our country's main shipping corridors. I also live not far from I-70, which is another major traffic corridor. It seems to me that semi-tractor trailer traffic on both of these is at least 2X what it was this time last year. That's not a shift in transportation routes, it's a massive increase in what's being shipped. One reason we know this is because trucking firms are short on drivers and desperately trying to hire more. This can happen only when the economy is strong and growing.

Science Alert #1

https://www.thefocalpoints.com/p/inside-mrna-vaccines-the-movie (about 1 hour) (Still some censorship, copy and paste the URL).

Science Alert #2

So-called "trans" people (including so-called "trans children") really hate science. It obliterates their entire ideology. Here is an example:
https://www.technologynetworks.com/immunology/news/the-science-behind-sex-differences-in-health-and-immunity-403255  (Still some censorship, copy and paste the URL).

Idiot Alert #1

Cackling Kamala has released a book about her embarrassing Presidential campaign. One cringes at the prospect of a whole book of word salads, lies, delusional statements, and hateful statements about Trump.

Perhaps the good editors of Readers Digest will release a condensed version. It would not take much space, maybe three sentences. "The American people rejected the four years of the Communist Occupation, with its censorship, lawfare, economic insanity, flooding of fentanyl and human traffickers across our southern border, and attacks on the Bill of Rights. I think they found my cackling amusing, it was kind of my trademark. Ultimately, they chose legitimacy, the Rule of Law, and a return to common sense and America First over the policies of my demented boss and me."

Idiot Alert #2

Not sure which idiot started this, but now the communists are trying to smear President Trump for his efforts to secure Washington, DC (District of Corruption) to stop the runaway violence. They are calling him "Batman", as if that will diminish him. Batman is one of the most admired of the superheroes, which is why State Farm has several variations of a Batman ad. Just more proof that the idiot communists are completely out of touch with America and its culture.

Idiot Alert #3

Even this liberal channel interviewer calls out Hakeem Jeffries for his extreme idiocy and dishonesty:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/watch-cnbcs-full-interview-with-house-minority-leader-rep-hakeem-jeffries/vi-AA1KwcgM

Nutjob Alert #1

Nutcase Nancy again shows she is completely unhinged from reality. Trans kids? Total fiction. Here she is advocating for the irreversible mutilation of gas lighted children: https://twitter.com/i/status/1953571014358491468

Nutjob Alert #2

Why is this insane woman allowed to be on a school board? So-called diversity does not mean putting certifiable nutjobs in important roles. She belongs in a treatment  center, not on a school board: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y88iKxi5sns. Thanks to Jeff Childers for sharing this in his Coffee & Covid newsletter.

Liars Alert #1

I constantly hear this lie about "health insurance" and "our health care system", neither of which exist. Doctors do not graduate from health school, they graduate from medical school. They have an MD after their name, not an HD.

  • Health care means taking care of your health, and the four pillars of that are: 1. A diet devoid of highly processed foods, and consisting mostly of whole fruits and vegetables grown in decent soil. 2. A rigorous exercise program, faithfully followed. 3. Mental health practices, which may include relaxation techniques for example, to prevent chronic stress but also challenge the mind. 4. Good hygiene, which includes keeping toxic chemicals out of your home.

  • Medical care means taking care of a medical problem, and the three pillars of that are: 1. Cut you (surgery). 2. Poison you (drugs). Irradiate you.

Do you see any overlap? Nope, neither do I. This is why Americans spend far more on medical care than people of any other country yet are the sickest population on the planet. If we diverted our focus to health care, we could slash what we spend on medical care and be the healthiest people on the planet.

It amazes me that people will balk at the cost of real food (versus synthetic), but don't bat an eye at the cost of heart bypass surgery. Maybe that's because their medical insurance provider tells them they are "covered" (most of the surgery and related financial costs paid), but there's no health insurance to cover the cost of food.

Liars Alert #2

Ever since Comrade Soetoro (aka, Obama) illegally occupied the office of POTUS, I have found only one true statement made by any Communist Party leaders. "Obama" said, "Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band of all time". Usually, people tell the truth pretty much all the time and you catch someone in a lie. In this case, Obama lies all the time and we caught him telling a truth. As for the other commies, that has yet to happen as far as I can tell. If they say something, it's a lie; which means if you want the real skinny on something just assume the opposite of what they are saying and you'll have it.

Shiffless Alert

Adam "Shiffless", the California Communist who led the first impeachment effort against President Trump and put out a steady stream of false accusations, baseless lies, and fake moral outrage, is now under federal investigation for defrauding, as the Patriot Journal put it, "lenders over multiple properties spanning nearly two decades". This is no fake lawfare case, it's a mortgage fraud case being conducted by the Maryland AG. Maryland is not one of the 33 free states, which means this is not a "right wing vendetta". And for that AG to investigate mortgage fraud, the evidence must already be there. It's just a matter of degree. Shiffless is going down, baby!

Health Behavior Improvement Alert

Only 54% of Americans say they drink alcohol, the lowest percentage since Gallup started polling on that question in 1939. Alcohol is a neurotoxin that easily crosses the blood-brain barrier, and it permanently reduces brain mass over time. It has numerous other health-adverse consequences. On the benefit side, many people relax with a glass of wine as if there is no other way to relax (there is). Many use it as a "social lubricant" although now that almost half the population refuses to imbibe that advantage is questionable at best.

Not only are 46% of Americans now better off for their own health, they are not endangering others with drunken driving or burdening our medical system with any of the long list of diseases caused by years of alcohol consumption. Alcohol consumption is now following along the path of smoking, which was the number one killer and disabler for decades.

Depression and hopelessness is one of the major reasons that people drink. Those two factors have driven the huge rate of alcoholism in Russia. The nearly miraculous changes in the USA economy and personal freedoms have reduced the heavy burden of depression and given hope to many; exactly what is reflected in this poll:
https://news.gallup.com/poll/693362/drinking-rate-new-low-alcohol-concerns-surge.aspx

Common Sense Alert

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on 05 AUG that 22 mRNA vaccine development contracts are being canceled and redirected “because the data show these vaccines fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu.” [Epoch Times]. Let that sink in. Somehow, Fauci and crew conned most of the world's people into believing that an injection into their blood would somehow stop an infection from getting started in their nose. Anyone applying common sense would have rejected that silly idea immediately. So what was the "somehow" that caused so many to accept the silliness despite how obviously wrong it is? Fear. That was followed by strong censorship that blocked real information from reaching people, giving the impression that because all they heard were the lies then the lies must be true.

Lesson: Always apply common sense! That is what RFK, Jr. has done here. He gave the sadists time to drum up some kind of rational argument supporting these toxic jabs, and they were not able to do so. Now, common sense replaces utter BS and we have a safer country in which to live.

Good Person Alert, #1

This guy could have just fled. Look what he did, instead: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8ArHkS7Cwao?feature=share.

Good Person Alert, #2

A19 year old former DOGE worker was leaning against his car with a female acquaintance (some reports say she is his girlfriend), when they were approached by 10 hoodlums. The hoodlums demanded his car, wallet, etc. In such circumstances, you usually have two choices:

  1. Claim the car isn't his, and run away to avoid a beating. This would have left the woman to fend for herself.

  2. Give them what they want, and get a beating anyhow.

He made a third choice. Rather than run away, he faced the hoodlums to buy time for his girlfriend. He told her to get in the car, lock the doors, and call 911. She did. They beat him bloody, and were working him over when the cops arrived. The woman was unhurt.

Communism Death Alert, #1

The left-leaning Wall Street Journal recently conducted a poll, and the results showed that 63% of Americans view the "Democrat" (Communist) Party unfavorably. And that is among an audience that is predominantly liberal. Ever since Elon Musk bought Twitter as a means to end censorship, the communist narrative has been crumbling and people can now see the truth. As the truth of the communists' horrendous behavior continues to circulate and become common knowledge, so will the truth about the Trump team's magnificent and beneficial accomplishments. The contrast is night versus day, which means an even deeper disgust with the communists. We basically have two demographics, now: those who subject their minds to the brainwashing of CNN, etc. and those who don't. The former tend to have Trump Derangement Syndrome and no clue about any national topic they talk about. The latter are fairly well-informed and make up their own minds, thus the negative view of the Communist Party by so many.

Communism Death Alert, #2

The communists have lost control of the legislative and executive branches, and their funding is in the toilet. They have dismal approval ratings. It's not just because of their spectacular failures during the Communist Occupation, but because of their chronic and blatant lying. Their solution isn't to come up with unretarded candidates and start telling the truth. Nope. Their solution is to keep elevating the retards among their ranks and to increase the absurdity of their lies. This alone tells us they are far too stupid to deserve our support in any way. Also too untrustworthy.

Communism Death Alert, #3

The Republicans now control the House, 220 to 213. There are 26 Communist seats that pundits consider "vulnerable". The Communists, in their delusional state driven by hatred and other negativity, believe they can flip 35 Republican seats despite having no vision, no plan, no money, and no brains. They will probably focus on tilting at those 35 proverbial windmills, while allowing just as many Communist seats to flip. But let's call it 30. That would mean the Republicans would have 250 seats to 183 for the Commies. Given how inept, wasteful, untrustworthy, and downright stupid the commies are, you can lay odds that they will choose their current strategy instead of one that makes sense. And we will all be better off for it.

What about the Senate? Fetterman is the only Democrat senator in the so-called Democrat Party. The others are all vulnerable to losing, and that includes the truly entrenched ones like Chuck Schumer. Oddly enough, there are 35 seats up for a change of occupant (this may be why the commies chose 35 seats in the House as their target, no logic there). Currently, the Senate is composed of 53 Republicans, 2 Independents, 1 Democrat, and 46 Communists calling themselves Democrats. With 35 seats open and disgust for the Communists at an all-time high and getting worse as each day goes by (and approval for the Republicans growing as the results continue to astound, amaze, and thrill voters), we could easily be looking at 64 Republicans, 1 Democrat, and 36 Communists calling themselves Democrats by the time of the 2026 mid-terms. Bernie Sanders, a communist, calls himself an Independent.

That would make the Communists go even more berserk, causing even more revulsion among voters. And the positive feedback cycle would continue until there are no more Communists in the House or the Senate. That depends, of course, on whether the Republicans stay on course.

Communism Death Alert, #4

Some other factors to consider:

  • Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders, and about a dozen others are so old they fart dust. All of them got the clot shot, as far as we know. So they should be dead or retired by either 2026 or 2028.

  • The truth about Obama is coming out, and once it's revealed that he is actually Barry Soetoro, and illegal alien, the Communist Party will be severely damaged.

  • The new Mayor of New York is openly Communist, and he's also dumber than a box of rocks. He will fail, and do so spectacularly. This will reflect back not upon the title he has chosen but upon the policies he has chosen. The same policies the "Democrats" currently embrace. This spectacle will be a hugely repulsive factor to many voters who are currently registered Democrats.

  • The Communists continually spew hatred at young men, a voting cohort they badly need. The jeans ad fiasco will come back to haunt them in time for this election.

  • The Communists have been deprived of their two main money laundering schemes, which means much tinier election war chests for them.

Communism Death Alert, #5

Here is a site that is good to look at periodically: https://www.270towin.com/2026-senate-election/ (Still some censorship, copy and paste the URL).

Democracy Death Attempt Alert

Article 1 of the Constitution mandates a census every ten years. You also pick up from the context that the purpose of the census is to determine how many citizens there are to be represented. At the time the union was formed, there was a temporary agreement to accommodate slave-holders, who wanted their slaves counted but not represented: that's where "whole persons" and "three-firths" come in. From the context, it's clear that these are tax-paying citizens.

The Democrats ignore the context and insist that all "whole persons" be counted even though that makes absolutely no sense because Representatives represent citizens not residents. You could use Democrat "logic" to exclude US Diplomats (not residing in the USA), most military people, people whose jobs have them overseas, etc. Clearly, those people deserve representation.0

President Trump wants to correct the Census defect that permits counting non-citizens, thus ensuring correct representation of tax-paying citizens. This, of course, would eliminate yet another Democrat scheme to undermine democracy in this country. Notice how the Dems are always talking about their "Democracy". Because they say the opposite of reality, what this means is they are focused on eliminating democracy in the USA. One way to move toward that goal is to distort the Census. Now they are talking about the "rights" of illegal aliens and specifically the "right" to be counted in our citizen census even though they are not citizens.

The Democrat Party, which is de facto the Communist Party, hates the idea of allowing citizens to pick their own leaders and representatives. Their track record, which includes blatant lawfare, obvious inciting of assassination, skipping their own primaries or ignoring the results of them, lying about everything, and an assortment of other behaviors designed to deprive citizens of a voice, shows their utter contempt for anything remotely resembling a democratic process. The very name of their party is a lie. The Democrat Party wants democracy dead. Trump wants it very much alive, and so they want him dead too.

3. Brainpower tip

I had never built a deck before, so about 20 years ago I hired it done. The guy was a real pro.

He built the railing system from cedar (my choice), but cedar doesn't hold up outside nearly as well as #2 Southern Pine. So after a few years, it started rotting in a few places. Mostly in the one support post that had the most weather exposure.

So I decided to replace the entire system with one that I would build from #2 Southern Pine. This meant carefully taking apart what he built so I could replicate it. There are many aspects of his work that I appreciate and understand, now. For example, I was at first annoyed that he screwed a block of wood to the back of a post. This made it hard to get at the nut on the carriage bolt (one of two, this is the upper one) that secured the post to the base. But that bolt was completely uncorroded and the nut came off easily. There's also the fact these were 6x6, why would a 4x4 be sufficient? Well, he notched the 6x6 so that three inches of it rested on the 2x4 base (which is 3.5 inches) and the other 2.5 inches (a 6x6 isn't actually 6 inches) formed a sturdy mounting tab for those carriage bolts.

Some people who heard me say I'd hired it done were surprised. I typically do my own work on just about everything. Surely, I could build a deck? I got to thinking about the design of it, how I might build the base, why other decks look so bad after only a couple of seasons, etc. I knew enough about it to know I didn't know enough about it. Rather than take the time learn how to build a deck just so I could build my first one (with all of its mistakes), I hired someone who had the knowledge and lots of practice. Now as I do this one repair job, I realize just how complicated it is to work with such large boards (a 6x6x8 #2 Southern pine weighs 170 lbs and you cannot cut even halfway through it with a standard 7 and 1/4 circular saw).

Cutting that first notch with a combination of a circular saw and a handsaw convinced me, at long last, to spring for the one power tool every other DIY has. A reciprocating saw. I've always found an excuse not to spend the money, including using a jigsaw, coping saw, or hand saw for the same purpose. I didn't know enough about it to know that I didn't know enough about it to make that decision. After seeing not only how it would save me a couple of hours of grueling handsaw work for this project but also the many other uses I will be making of it (and could have made, over the years), I now know enough to know that I will benefit from seeing what else I can learn about using this tool.

Some people enter into a discussion or (in their mind) "debate" about a topic, but don't know enough about it to know they are far from being prepared to do that. Some people tackle a project, assuming they will "figure it out" as they go, instead of planning that project until they know enough about it to decide whether to learn more or outsource it. Before I built my climbing wall, I looked online for video tutorials. There weren't any. No books on the topic either. So I looked very carefully at the various climbing gym walls to see how they were constructed. I asked climbing buddies what angle the wall should be at, and one told me to make the wall adjustable. I thought for weeks on that idea, finally coming up with a rough plan to build it somehow from steel channel strut. I thought, dreamed, and talked about that wall for months before doodling some designs on paper. By the time I began purchasing materials, I already had a construction process written out.

Suppose I had jumped into that wall project by simply starting on it and seeing where things take me. Instead of being the elegant work of art and fine engineering that it is, that wall would have been some shameful mishmash of parts. I have done other "no such thing in existence" projects that same way.

When I built Miss Ijit's front door window system, I had been thinking for months how to build a substitute 'wall" to fit into a standard window opening, with a functional window above and a cat door below. I got a stroke of luck when I ran into Leslie at Lowe's; she'd been managing their window and door department for a long time and she was also familiar with lumber and synthetics such as PVC boards. After watching how Anderson Window techs install windows, I know how to install any unit I built. I did all of this learning prior to designing or building anything, because I knew enough about the project at its inception to know that I didn't know enough about it.

Many people believe they can just look things up if they run into a problem, but they don't know enough to know what to look up. My deck guy didn't do an online search for "how to prevent carriage bolts from corroding when you build a deck". He already knew this, but if he had not known this then he would also not have known to even think about it. I have gone behind enough people who do botched work that I have come to see DIY to mean Do It All Wrong. That said, I live on a block with not just one other craftsman but four. That is remarkable. I was the lone holdout in not having a reciprocating saw, but now I am up to snuff there.

We cannot know everything about everything. But we can all take the time to know enough about subjects important to us (whether a building project, repair job, medical decision, or family issue) to deal with it intelligently. That might mean gaining expertise, or it might mean finding someone who has the expertise. But it starts with taking time to replace assumptions with facts.

4. Finance tip

President Trump has brought in trillions of dollars of investment in the USA. On top of that, he has brokered peace deals at a pace of about one a month since taking office. Peace leads to prosperity, war consumes prosperity.

Instead of nominating President Trump for a Nobel Prize in Economics and a Nobel Peace prize, the libtards and communists are undermining everything he is doing. They have decided to make themselves the enemies of not only the American People, but of the more than a dozen nations that are no longer hemorrhaging blood and treasure.

All of this opposition to peace and prosperity produces huge costs for each member of society. They claim their lies, vitriolic slander, and calls to violence are all protected speech. They are wrong. The lies and slander are actionable in civil court, as MSNBC found out to the tune of $16 million. The calls to violence are actually criminal acts, but it's hard to put people like Nancy Pelosi in jail for any of her many felonies.

Do you remember during the Communist Occupation that one method of censorship used against us was the "cancel culture" approach of silencing those whose views differed from the narrative and fake news? Conservatives find this behavior anathema, we encourage open debate. Where were those First Amendment fans when we were being cancelled? Now they want to claim that seditious speech, hate speech, and deeply deceptive speech are all protected by the First Amendment (as long as THEY are the ones being seditious, hateful, and deceptive).

We can't have an honest conversation with these haters of peace and prosperity. Nor do we want to adopt their disgusting habits. But we can still take the battle to them. Here are some ways to help defend peace and prosperity:

  • Stand firm in your defense of our President, our republic, and our collective sanity.
  • Don't get dragged down into arguments, the people trying to make them are doing that because they feel an irrational need to justify their unjustifiable hatred of peace and prosperity.
  • Get on the e-mail list of one of the communist leaders. I'm on Nutcase Nancy's list and also on the list for the Democratic something something (DSCC) and some other commie newsletters. I write back to them. I call them out, which is something they are surely not used to. Imagine if Nutcase got 300 e-mails chastising her for her latest lie. That would get to her.

  • Subscribe to publications from truth-oriented groups. The Epoch Times is a good one to start with. America's First Freedom is free to NRA members. AMAC has a great newsletter.
  • Where things could get dicey, for example among family members or at work, just drop the occasional truth bomb as food for thought.
  • Speak English, instead of Orwellian. This drives liars nuts, because one of their tools is language abuse. For example, there's no such thing as "health insurance" but that's what liars call medical insurance. Undermine the lying by insisting on the correct terminology.

  • Be adamant that there are only two sexes, and which one you are depends on whether the sperm that penetrated your mother's egg had the Y chromosome or not.
  • Make a point of being aware of what the Trump administration is actually doing. Express to others how happy this or that makes you. "Isn't it great that we had a budget surplus in May and a bigger one in July?"
  • Support election integrity campaigns and other efforts to ensure we have fair elections. Contact your County Election Office and start a conversation, see where that goes. But don't give up!

See all of my climbing videos here: https://tinyurl.com/ClimbingSigChannel. Some cool climbing  videos:

My hardest climb ever, a 5.11d on lead: https://youtu.be/UT5h0heUUBc . I made a dumb mistake initially, letting the rope wrap over my shoulder. Watch what happens.

The scale:

  • Beginner: 5.6. 5.7. 5.8, 5.9  (roped) / VV, V0, V1, V2 (boulder)
  • Intermediate: 5.10a, b, c, d ;5.11a, b, c, d  / V3, V4, V5, V6
  • Advanced: 5.12a, b, c, d; 5.13a, b, c, d. / V7, V8, V9, V10.
  • Elite and Pro: Even harder. Almost nobody climbs at either level at any of the 6 local climbing gyms.

By age 60, the typical American has experienced a serious loss of mobility. Ask such a person to get up off the floor and see what happens. A decade later mobility is very poor, with an unsteady gait and inefficient movement. and that person just looks weak. And off balance.

The process actually begins many years earlier. In his 20s, the average American man is already losing usable strength due to increasingly poor posture. He may be going to the gym and getting stronger on the machines, but his functional strength is starting to decline because the mechanical angles are going out of kilter. As this happens, flexibility also decreases.

When I started in martial arts, we spent a lot of time on posture, flexibility, and the mechanical angles formed by the joints. It gave us outsized strength for our body size, compared to other people. It was also something that people hated doing. My beginner class of 30 students was down to four after a month, with nearly all of the quitters citing this work as their reason for quitting.

A couple of years ago, I reconnected with a Kung Fu instructor after decades of staying out of touch (nothing wrong with him, I left town and didn't keep in touch). He was in his 70s and I was a bit awestruck upon seeing him for the first time after all those years. He still has erect posture and carries himself with an ease and efficiency that comes from a lifetime of practicing these fundamentals. I met up with another Kung Fu instructor who was "only" in his 60s, same thing. These two had trained together, so had a similar perspective. The younger one had been my first Kung Fu instructor. The normal decay you see at sixty plus is avoidable, and these two men are living proof.

One problem is the decay is slow, and people tend to adjust their expectations rather than their behavior. Most are not aware they even have a problem. Maybe you do, and don't know it?

One test you can try right now is this. Reach your left hand over your shoulder and bring your right hand up from your middle back. Can you touch your fingers together? If not, you have lost too much flexibility and it is a deteriorating situation. It means something is wrong and getting worse. See a chiropractor or physical therapist (also called a "body mechanic") to work on this. They will probably find you have hip mobility problems too, and they will probably want to spend more time on those at first.

A tight muscle is a weak muscle; there are multiple reasons this is true. A joint that has limited rotation is a usable strength robber. You need flexibility around each of your four complex joints (two shoulders and two hips), and most people lack this by the time they hit 60 (thus, "I've fallen and I can't get up).

I'm a firm believer in weight training. But not the kind that is based on biceps curls and bench presses with a few leg presses thrown in. I have three separate muscle groupings for upper body (they are on different days, of course), Monday is always leg day (unless I need to move it to Sunday or Tuesday for travel or something), and on Friday I do mobility work. I climb on Sundays, and that involves that usable strength thing with flexibility.

When working any particular muscle group, I make sure to work it hard at the full extension (where it's weakest). Most people work mainly at the full contraction, because they can lift more weight that way. Some braver souls will do a little work in the midrange. I do all three ranges, and where it's not practical to get them in a single exercise, I use multiple exercises to target each range. Every workout starts with compound movements, as these are more like performance than training. They force you to recruit your stabilizer muscles, be very conscious of form, and burn fuel like crazy due to all the muscles being used. They also get your metabolic stress going, and that's a great reason to put them at the front.

With the isolation exercises (curls being a prime example of an isolation exercise), I try to use mechanical disadvantage and true isolation rather than a lot of weight. I used to work side delts using 30lb dumbbells. They didn't grow. And I often had sore traps. Now I lean at such an awkward angle (lean way left if training the right) that I get a serious muscle burn using only 8lbs. And no, that's not 50 reps. It's between 6 and 10 reps. My traps are completely out of the exercise. After a year of this, my delts are much larger. When you consider my age, that's remarkable because I keep hearing how guys over 40 (or is that 50?) can't put on muscle. That idea is true if their idea of training is about the amount of weight they can use instead of about how much they can work a given muscle. More weight means more cheating, and more cheating means less muscle growth.

Let's get back to usable strength, the foundation of which is good posture, joint mobility, and flexibility. I've started observing people's posture, not to be judgmental but to get a picture of what's normal. And I can tell you that normal means a lot of neck pain, weakness, tired feet, and back pain. The biggest indicator is "head forward" posture, a strength-zapper that gets progressively worse. I have a daily Outlook appt for me to do a specific exercise to correct this, since I work at a computer (most skilled trades also work head forward). The exercise is you pull your chin back so far that you feel a stretch in the back of your neck; you can find videos of "head forward exercise" online. Look up "hip mobility exercise" and "shoulder mobility exercise" while you're at it.

If your posture is anywhere close to normal (normal for our population, not normal for how the body is intended to look), you are far weaker than you otherwise would be. Rather than face deteriorating mobility and a general loss of usable strength, make an appointment with a chiropractor or physical therapist with the caveat you want to work on these specific issues. Then make the commitment.

Another thing that can help you is to take a dance class. Or take up martial arts. Sitting on the couch watching movies, not so much.

At www.supplecity.com, you'll find plenty of informative, authoritative articles on maintaining a lean, strong physique. It has nothing to do with long workouts or impossible to maintain diets. In fact:
  • The best workouts are short and intense.
  • A good diet contains far more flavors and satisfaction than the typical American diet.

During the four years ending in January, 2025, more Americans died from communism than from Covid.

When pushing their views, communists never use facts or logic. Instead, they rely on hyperbole, pure fiction, gross exaggerations, non-sequitors, and ad hominem attacks. What does this tell you about their views?
